Change is a funny thing, it's something many are quite scared of, but why does change have to be thought of in a negative way? Change can actually be a really positive thing. I think many people see making a change as a HUGE thing, but you can start off really small. I think it's important to think about whether you're truly happy in yourself, and whether there's anything you feel you need or want to change in your life. Changing & improving yourself is a positive thing and it will always add to your life.
Loving yourself is so important, you have to learn to love yourself before anyone else can love you, and if you know you're not completely happy with yourself, that's when you have to think about what you can do to change that. Change has to be about you. Not for another person, or because of what someone has said about you. All that is important is how you feel about yourself. Unless you know in yourself what you aren't happy about and what you need to do to change that, you'll never fully succeed. We need to believe in the change we are making and know the benefits it's going to bring.
I think it's clear to see that I believe in leading a healthy lifestyle, but I truly think not enough of us are doing that. So few people are fit and healthy, and it seems to be something many don't even think twice about it. Not everyone is going to be a huge gym lover or a super keen nutritionist, but we can all benefit by adding a little extra exercise and healthy food into our lives. Deciding to do this will bring so much more to your life than just physical appearance. I think when you change your lifestyle, you actually end up changing your whole life and your whole mindset.
I'm so glad I took the steps I did to change my lifestyle. I decided to take control of my life and my happiness, and for me starting a healthy lifestyle was the biggest part of that. I had a complete life change. I went from drinking fizzy drinks, eating fast food and chocolate, to drinking smoothies, and eating tons of fruits, vegetables and salads. I was always active playing sports but previous to my change had never entered a gym. Increasing exercise didn't only make me feel physically strong and fit, but mentally too. At the time I was coming to terms with fighting bipolar disease, which wasn't an easy thing, but making a full effort to better my life made me a much stronger person. I truly believe starting a health & fitness regime helped to save my life. It made me so much more confident in myself and my strength, and it made me feel like I could take on the world. I would now never look back to my life before.
If you know that you're unhappy with how your body feels and how you're body looks, you don't have to just stick with that, you can make changes to feel good about yourself. I did it to take back control of my life, and that's exactly what it did.
No matter what the reason you are always going to benefit from it. We all need to start loving our bodies and lives a little more instead of hating and abusing them. Remember it's you're life, and it's your responsibility to take care of the one body you have.
